I went to kindergarten at Rowland. I think it would have been 1942 or 43. I lived on Byrd Street and my friend Anne and I would walk each morning to school. Then in ‘53, I met my husband on campus. We were married 54 years before his passing. Good memories at SHIP. I also have a plaque on the wall in Old Main where I furnished a scholarship in memory of my husband Richard, who graduated from Ship, class of ’56.
