Our Purpose
- Engage, energize and unify members of the university community
- Generate new interest in the university and its mission to the surrounding communities, the region, the state and the nation
- Raise awareness of the university
- Set the university’s role and mission as it looks ahead to the next 150 years
- Solidify the university’s brand and uniqueness in the region, state system, the commonwealth and the nation
Our Goals
- Provide an opportunity to reflect on the university’s past, present, and future
- Strengthen the Shippensburg “family” and community connections
- Unite alumni and current students
- Share the “Ship Story”
- Reinforce and redefine the identity of our campus community
- Serve as a catalyst for engagement

A Land Acknowledgment is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional occupants of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.
